Clean Slate Tattoo Removal
ASLMS is continuing to expand the reach of our philanthropic efforts. The New Beginnings Radiation Mark Program started in 2014 and expanded to include branding tattoo removal in 2022. Now, ASLMS is ready to help members connect with individuals looking for a fresh start in life through pro bono tattoo removal treatment for gang-related tattoos.
The Clean Slate program was started by UC San Diego in 2016 in partnership with the San Diego County Probation Department and the San Diego County Indigent Criminal Defense Grant Fund. This program has graciously extended their resources to ASLMS to distribute to members in hopes that local Clean Slate programs can be offered in your area.
While this is not an official ASLMS program, as clinics develop their local Clean Slate programs, they will be added to the ASLMS Clean Slate clinic database.
“Ex-gang members and troubled youth who are trying to assimilate into society have trouble obtaining jobs or even entering the military because their tattoos are associated with social stigmas. By removing tattoos, we can help them jump-start a new life.”
