The ASLMS Visiting Expert Program matches laser and energy-based device experts with educational institutions to provide lectures on cutting-edge research, device innovations, best practices, complications, and safety.

Benefits of Participation

For Institutions

Institutions gain complimentary access to laser and energy-based device teaching segments for their curriculum.

For Visiting Experts

Participants can enhance their professional credentials and strengthen their standing as recognized leaders in the field.

For Attendees

Students acquire current knowledge about device innovations and safety practices, develop clinical skills, and expand their professional networks.

Criteria to Participate — Institutions

To host a visiting expert, institutions must:

Submit the Institution/Host Application, Host Agreement, and Release of Liability forms

Request a lecturer referral from ASLMS based on geographic proximity or virtual capability

Coordinate lecture date, time, and attendee capacity with the expert

Handle logistics, promotion, and technical setup

Prepare and submit student critique forms with information release statements

Submit the final report and critiques to ASLMS

Criteria to Participate — Visiting Experts

To become a visiting expert, applicants must:

Be a current ASLMS member in good standing (non-student status)

Have a minimum of two years post-training or one year post-fellowship with teaching experience

Hold a current academic appointment at an accredited university

Have been an ASLMS Conference/Course speaker within the last five years

Hold board certification by an ABMS member board (if applicable)

Be willing to sign a liability release and approve biographical posting
