- Applications are subject to Vice President review and Board referral.
- Denied applicants may request reconsideration.
- New members receive a packet and certificate.
- Membership includes a waiver of certain legal claims.
- ASLMS maintains a non-discrimination policy.

Standard Membership
Associate

Any scientist, engineer, physician, other health care professional, or individual qualified and duly licensed to engage in independent clinical practice; or anyone significantly involved with the laser industry.
$375 (U.S.) — Physician/Industry · $180 — Scientist · $130 — Nursing/Allied Health.
ASLMS offers a dues reduction for individuals residing in World Bank low-income / lower-middle-income economies (rates shown on the online application).
Early Career Membership
2nd Year Post Graduate
$248 / $119 / $86
Completed training in the last two years. $248 Physician/Industry · $119 Scientist · $86 Nursing/Allied Health.
1st Year Post Graduate
$125 / $60 / $43
Completed training in the last year. $125 Physician/Industry · $60 Scientist · $43 Nursing/Allied Health.
Graduate Student
FREE
Holds a bachelor's degree and is pursuing further education in a related discipline.
Undergraduate Student
FREE
Seeking an undergraduate degree at an accredited institution. Non-voting.
Other Memberships
Fellow
Associate Rates
Associates who qualify by their activities and have been Associates in good standing for a Board-specified period. Renewed every three (3) years.
Lifetime Associate
FREE
Associate/Fellow in good standing unable to continue practice or retired, with written request and Board approval. Apply via email: information@aslms.org.
Honorary Member
FREE
Associate/Fellow of outstanding attainment, recommended by the Board and elected by the membership. May not vote or serve on a committee.
